2009 Property Planning Competition

 PP

Year 9/10 and Senior Agriculture students will be battling it out across North West NSW to be the 2009 Grand Champion. Students are given the scenario that they are a team of farm advisory consultants who have been asked to provide a strategic property plan ensuring economic and resource sustainability.

Students are provided with comprehensive resource materials, visit their study property to view various aspects of farm issues with the help of the landholder and a team of technical experts. A post-field day tutorial helps students develop their entries.

Based on their findings, students decide on what types of enterprises the real-life property could utilise and what management strategies could be implemented to ensure the property is economically and ecologically sustainable.

All entries receive constructive feedback and the winners are awarded at a gala ceremony at Ag-Quip in Gunnedah in August.
