More than twenty teachers came together for the Enviro-Beat Teacher’s Conference to learn and share their own activities, skills and knowledge in environmental education with fellow teachers.
Building on the success of the Enviro-Beat Youth Conference for students the program included presentations of new and innovative techniques and materials developed by syllabus experts and local teachers them selves. These can be downloaded for your own use below.
As well as the formal sessions teachers learnt by “playing” some new environmental games and how to use them at a session conducted at Lynchwood Scout Camp. This was followed by a ‘spotlighting’ for animals with local expert, Phil Spark. Many participants enjoyed the experience of touching and holding local lizards, snakes and bats. The evening was rounded out by a local musician who led the group in a djembe drums experience by the bonfire.
Feedback from the teachers:
Thank you for a most amazing two days. I am going to take so much back to school.
This was a particularly worthwhile event. Many thanks for this opportunity to hear other teachers
