Wetlands Assessment & Prioritisation Study Namoi CMA commissioned a study into the assessment and prioritisation of wetlands within the Namoi Catchment. For the purposes of this project, a wetland was defined as any area containing wetland-dependent vegetation i.e. vegetation that is reliant on inundation, either permanent or periodic. The project comprised several related components including: • comprehensive mapping of individual wetlands from satellite imagery • hydrological modelling/wetland inundation assessment • development and application of a prioritisation framework • field surveys of target wetlands • wetland condition assessment • development of a monitoring framework • development of a wetland management framework and • compilation of a wetland dependent vegetation inventory.
